- Recognize the difference between edible and inedible plants
- Recognize a plant as either an evergreen or deciduous plant
- Differentiate between flowering and nonflowering plants
Materials
- Examples of edible and inedible plants
Events of Instruction
- Watch a short video on evergreen and deciduous trees
- View teacher's examples of edible and inedible plants
- Go on a walking tour outside and try to find plants that are flowering/nonflowering and evergreen/deciduous
Assessment
After going on the walking tour, the class will go back inside and have a conversation on what they identified as flowering/nonflowering and evergreen/deciduous.
